The Los Angeles Sparks are taking the Team of the Week program to the next level by offering Team of the Week award recipients the chance to become Team of the Year presented by NikeWomen.com. The Team of the Year will receive additional benefits as mentioned below including new shoes for the 2009 season provided by Nike for the entire team.
The criteria for becoming the Team of the Year will be based on team’s statistical percentages in the following categories: FG%, FT%, 3FG%, RPG, APG, BPG and SPG throughout the season as well as their participation in a special Sparks ticket offer to raise funds for their high school basketball program.

Team of the Year Standings
Points are calculated based on team statistical percentages on a ten (10) point scale. The ten point scale is used because there will be a total of ten (10) teams of the week. Team statistics will then be compiled to decide the 2009-2010 Team of the Year.
*Example: Chatsworth HS is averaging 67ppg and Carson HS 60ppg. Chatsworth receives 10 points in that category and Carson receives 9.
