Dockweiler Beach

The Team Is Keeping Our Beaches Clean!

After the long Fourth of July weekend, the Sparks team, coaches, Sparkids, and Home Court Advantage members helped clean Dockweiler Beach in El Segundo on Sunday July 9, 2006 from 10:00-11:00AM. This was the largest Sparks cleanup to date with over 170 people coming out to pitch in! The Adopt-A-Beach Program, an educational project of the California Coastal Commission, gives people of all ages the opportunity to learn about and participate in the conservation of our coastal resources. By cleaning the beach, participants will see how trash on our streets winds up in the ocean. In addition, data is collected during the cleanup that may be used to help identify ways to stop beach pollution. Home Court Advantage members earned 2,500 points for participating in this event. A big “thanks” to everyone who came out early Sunday morning to show your support!
