Choreographer of the Ole Skool Crew
A competitive gymnast since the age of nine and dancing since thirteen, Larina Chavez continues to explore her fascination of movement and the fine arts. She is a graduate of California State University San Bernardino with a degree and a teaching credential in Kinesiology. Her background consists of gymnastics, jazz, modern, tap, ballet, cheerleading, hip-hop, lyrical, and her favorite- musical theater. Currently, she is a part-time teacher at Rancho Cucamonga High School, Owner and Director of Studio Elite Dance Studio of Rancho Cucamonga, Choreographer of the Ole Skool Crew, and choreographs musical theater productions for Chaffey High School- voted “Best High School Musical in the Nation” by USA Today Magazine.
With Larina’s choreography, the Ole Skool Crew has performed at many Sparks and Laker games. Her choreography was even featured at Madison Square Garden for the W.N.B.A. All-Star game as the half-time entertainment. Larina has worked on the set of ABC’s General Hospital, Keeping up with the Kardashians, and recently filmed a music video with upcoming artists Varsity Fan Club. She has performed and taught dance workshops worldwide.
Beginning her third year in business, Studio Elite continues to be one of Larina’s most prevalent accomplishments. After only one year with Studio Elite, Larina traveled with her competitive dance team to Las Vegas where they won their first national title. “My studio carries a different vibe…we are unique and positive,” says Larina. She prides herself in keeping her students grounded and has a knack for working with ALL students…from the young to the mature, the less fortunate and the disabled students. Busy with her jobs as a choreographer, teacher and business owner, she resides at home near her family with her dog Jackson. Larina aspires to continue to have her choreography featured worldwide and possibly choreograph on Broadway in the near future.
