A dancer since the age of four, Dyan Lopez had always been a dance enthusiast. She has an extensive background in ballet, tap, jazz, and hip hop. She has a degree from CSULB in physical education with a specialty in coaching men’s sports.
Throughout her dancing career, Dyan has had opportunities to perform at unique venues such as the White House, Channel 11 Christmas specials, Hawaii and nearly every major amusement park along the West Coast. She has also appeared on numerous television game shows like “Wheel of Fortune”, “Win Loose or Draw”, “Puttin on the Hits”, etc. She has done TV, film, and commercials. Her most memorable performance was working with the legendary Cab Calloway, Gregory Hines, and the Nicholas brothers. Her last music video was with Earth Wind and Fire “Magnetic”. She has performed on tour with the Hollywood Starlets, Wadsworth Theatre with Steve Allen, Ordway Theatre, etc. With 25 years of dancing experience, Dyan enjoys bringing creativity and challenges to the dance floor. She has had a great time choreographing for the Ole Skool crew and loves dancing with the wonderful women on the team.
She has choreographed half-time shows for the Clippers’ Happy Clinic, numerous field shows, fashion shows and dance competitions. She currently judges for Aspire dance competitions and Miss Dance Drill Team USA. In addition, she was formerly the choreographer for the American Youth Express song and dance group where her group was chosen to be in a six-month run at the Pantages Theater in “Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat” with Michael Damien. Her Electric Youth children’s dance company has won numerous competitions and was featured on Channel 5 with Carlos Amezcua. She had the first all guys dance team where they were state champions for two years that she had them. Dyan now performs with her tap company, The Hot Cotton Candies, which she started with Tita Boulger and the Orchestra Le Jazz Hot. They opened for the Mandrel Sisters, The 4 Tops, The Ink Spots, many celebrity events like the Dinah Shore Classic, etc.
Dyan has been married for 18 years and has a 15 year old daughter that is a professional dancer.
