Ole Skool Crew

2008 Ole Skool Crew

“Fabulous and Over Forty”

The Ole Skool Crew brings smooth moves and high energy to the Los Angeles Sparks halftime shows.

As the premier halftime performers for the Los Angeles Sparks, the Ole Skool Crew made up of incredibly talented and truly blessed women over 40, are strutting their stuff, raising the roof, and inspiring the crowd to “jump up out of their seats” during the Sparks home games at the STAPLES Center.

From jamming with James Brown or bustin a move to MC Hammer, these hot ladies bring an energetic, sassy, confident and entertaining super show for the Sparks fans! Their ability to draw and create a fan base is unstoppable. The Ole Skool Crew was created in the summer of 2004 when auditions were held to find men and women who love to dance, perform and are not afraid to represent the essence of life to captive audiences! From those auditions, 20 dancers with diversified backgrounds were selected. On July 7, 2004, the new team debuted at the STAPLES Center cheering on the Sparks against the Phoenix Mercury.

The Ole Skool Crew truely ignited an exciting and positive energy into the Sparks crowd that had never been seen before. From beginning to present day, the Crew has guest starred on various TV shows and radio stations such as:

  • E! Entertainment’s “Keeping Up With The Kardashians"
  • LATV’s “Cruzin TV”
  • Univision “Despierta America”
  • Telemundo “Buenas Noticias”
  • KTLA 5’s “Morning Show”
  • Movin 93.9 - Rick Dee’s
  • “Alarma TV” (Channel 62)
  • KGGI 99.1
  • FOX 11’s “Wednesday’s Child” and “Good Day LA”
  • KOST 103.5
  • KJLH 102.3

The Ole Skool Crew was also invited by the WNBA to perform at the July 2006 WNBA All-Star Game at Madison Square Garden.

Traci Doran Hawkins, director of the Ole Skool Crew has worked diligently in keeping the organization together. “When we came together, even from different walks of life, we realized we all had the same passion for dance. In our personal lives, we have encouraging stories that inspire us to share with the community,” says Traci. The group had supported such non-profits as KNBC-Channel 4’s Health Expo, The city of Baldwin Park's Fight Against Children Obesity Campaign, Baldwin Park's 2008-2009 Concerts In the Park, and the Hollywood Christmas Parade.

The Ole Skool Crew boasts 12 women of different shapes, sizes and ethnic backgrounds. From a former “Soul Train” dancer to a former "Tampa Bay Bandit" cheerleader, these women have done it all and hope to continue making their marks on the court as well as the world.
