St. Bernard High School Named Sparks Practice Facility
SPARKS ANOUNCE ST. BERNARD HIGH SCHOOL AS THE OFFICIAL PRACTICE FACILITY FOR THE 2013 SEASON
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Sparks and St. Bernard High School have partnered together to make the high school the new training and practice facility for the 2013 WNBA season. The Sparks will make their St. Bernard debut on Sunday, May 5, for the start of training camp.
As part of the partnership, the Sparks renovated St. Bernard’s all-sports weight room: adding new and upgraded equipment; overhauling the girls’ locker room and refinishing the gym floor. It’s a win-win for both organizations. St. Bernard’s gains much-needed improvements to its athletic facilities and the Sparks are able to enhance access and exposure to its fans and community.
“What is great about this partnership is the fact that the Sparks organization is committed to quality, excellence and winning, just like the St. Bernard Vikings,” said St. Bernard Co-Principal Cynthia Hoepner.
“We are excited that St. Bernard is the new practice home of the Sparks,” said Sparks Executive Vice President and general manager Penny Toler. “The campus provides the perfect environment for our players, coaches and staff to practice and train throughout the season. We look forward to bringing our St. Bernard family their first WNBA Championship.”
The Sparks will tip-off the 2013 WNBA season on Sunday, May 26 vs. the Seattle Storm at 5:30 p.m. at STAPLES Center. Individual tickets are on sale and start at $15. Season and group ticket plans, in all lower-bowl sections of STAPLES Center, are available now by calling 877-44-SPARKS (772757) or visiting LASparks.com.
