For the third consecutive year, the Womens National Basketball Association joined forces with the American Heart Associations Go Red For Women to increase awareness of heart disease and encourage women to take action to reduce their personal risk.
WNBA teams hosted in-arena nights to raise awareness of heart disease and encourage women to get involved in the movement. The teams recognized local heart disease survivors and conducted auctions to benefit Go Red For Women, among other activities. In addition, players took the Go Red Heart CheckUp and signed up for the new Go Red BetterU program, which gives women the choice to achieve an improved state of well-being and heart health.
