Sporting events that have been at the Pavilion include UIC men's and women's basketball, Volvo Grand Prix and Ameritech Cup tennis; USA Women's Basketball vs. the Russian Olympic Team; U.S. Precision Figure Skating Championships; USA Basketball All Stars vs. the Yugoslavian Olympic Team; Chicago Power Soccer; Labatt's Hockey Heroes vs. UIC featuring the return of National Hockey League Hall of Famers Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita; men's and women's gymnastics competitions; and the world-renowned Harlem Globetrotters.
Besides hosting sporting events, the UIC Pavilion has featured performances by The Grateful Dead, U2, Van Halen, REM, R. Kelly, LL Cool J, Greenday, Nine Inch Nails and Madonna, among others. In the spring of 2000, the Pavilion also welcomed the Shrine Circus to the UIC campus.
