After evening the series against the San Antonio Silver Stars 72-70 on Sunday, the Sky look to continue their success traveling to Atlanta to take on the Dream Sunday, June 16 at the Philips Arena. This will be the first match up between the teams this season. After five games, the Sky and Dream sit tied atop the Eastern Conference with a record of 4-1. The Dream has already taken down three Eastern Conference teams including the Indiana Fever, the Washington Mystics and the New York Liberty.

Last season, the Sky and Dream played five games against each other in the regular season. The Sky took two of the five contests, one on the road 94-92, and one at home 71-69. In their three losses, the Sky were held to an average of 71 points.

This season the Dream bring back Angel McCoughtry, who led the team is scoring 4 of the 5 games against the Sky in 2012. After suffering their first lost against the New York Liberty Sunday night, McCoughtry is averaging 18 points per game and six rebounds per game.

Elena Delle Donne, who is averaging 19.4 points and 4.8 rebounds, will have to contain Dream forward Sancho Lyttle who recorded her third double-double of the season against the New York Liberty. The Sky will look to use the athleticism and length of Sylvia Fowles, who is averaging 14.8 rebounds, and the quickness of Delle Donne to win the battle in the paint. Grabbing rebounds will be key as both teams sport a rebounding average that ranks in the top three in the league as of June 10.

The most intriguing match up of the game will be the Sky’s offense, which leads the Eastern Conference in points per game (84.2), against the league’s top defense entering June 10. The Sky will look to Delle Donne, Fowles, who is averaging 13.4 points per game, and Courtney Vandersloot who adds an average of 10 points per game to outscore the Dream’s squad. The Sky will also look to their bench for offensive production.

What better way to spend Fathers Day then watching the game with your dad. Tune in to The U Too at 2pm CST Sunday.
