Sky Waives Ruth Riley

The Chicago Sky have waived veteran Ruth Riley. During the 2012 season, Riley averaged 2.7 points, 2.4 rebounds and one assist per game. Riley set a career-high in steals (4) against the Washington Mystics on June 1. In the Sky’s September 7 matchup against New York, Riley became only the sixth player in WNBA history to reach the 500 career block mark.

Riley was drafted fifth overall in the 2001 WNBA Draft to the Miami Sol. After playing for the Detroit Shock and the San Antonio Silver Stars, Riley was signed to the Chicago Sky in February 2012.
