Chicago Sky vs. Connecticut Sun

The Sky prepares for their fourth, and final, regular season meeting with the Connecticut Sun on Tuesday night at Mohegan Sun Arena. Amidst a tight race in the Eastern Conference, each remaining game holds playoff implications. Chicago currently stands a half game behind the New York Liberty for the fourth playoff spot in the East.

“Every game from here on out is a must win,” said Sky center Sylvia Fowles. “We have to stay on our toes, continue to be aggressive and do the things we haven’t done all season to make it into the playoffs.”

In the first two meetings between Chicago and Connecticut, the Sky defended their home court, coming away with a pair of wins (78-68, 101-82). Sky Forward Elena Delle Donne led the team in scoring with 21 points in the first meeting. Courtney Vandersloot added 18 points and Jessica Breland came away with a double-double with 14 points and 15 rebounds. In their second meeting Delle Donne dropped 28 points and Jessica Breland notched her second double-double of the series with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

Chicago heads into Tuesday’s game fighting for a playoff berth in a competitive Eastern Conference. The Sky’s 76-65 win against Washington on Sunday, inched the franchise one step closer to punching its second consecutive post-season ticket. Elena Delle Donne led all scorers in the game with 21 points while Sylvia Fowles delivered her ninth double-double of the season with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Epiphanny Prince added eight points, seven assists and two steals for Chicago.
