Sky Guy at Rubber Ducky Derby

The annual Windy City Rubber Duck Derby is an annual fundraiser event to benefit Special Olympics Illinois. Sky Guy will cheer on the 45,000 yellow rubber ducks that will race their way down the Chicago River, and he wants you to join him!

Family fun begins at 10 a.m. at the Wrigley Building (400 North Michigan Avenue) where there will be face painting, food and games. The Duck Derby race starts at 1 p.m.

Fans can “adopt” a duck for $5 or a “Quack Pack” of six ducks for $25 dollars. Adopted ducks will be tagged with a number. The individuals whose ducks cross the finish line first will win an exciting prize. Prizes include an all-inclusive Apple Vacation for two to Riu Palace Peninsula in Cancun and a 2013 Chevy Malibu.

The goal for 2013 is to have 50,000 adopted ducks in the water. Proceeds of the duck adoption will help over 21,000 Special Olympic athletes and almost 13,000 Youth Athletes participate in sports.

Sky Guy has another offer for Sky fans. The first 20 people who give Sky Guy the key phrase “Sky Quack Pack” will receive a pair of Sky tickets. Ticket winners will cheer on the Sky, the leader of the Eastern Conference, when they take on the Minnesota Lynx, the leader in the West, on Sunday, August 11.

If you miss out on the “Sky Quack Pack” from Sky Guy you can still take advantage of $8 tickets for all home games in August. Call 866-SKY-WNBA or www.chicagosky.net and use “Sky Quack Pack” to take advantage of this offer.
