The Chicago Sky helped kick off the Rockford Park Districtís Youth Sports Basketball Skills Camp with a Jamboree Monday. The pep rally took place at West Middle School in Rockford and featured a performance by Sky Guy and the Sky Dunk Squad. Kids participating in the clinic attended the rally along with their parents to kick off the week ahead.

The Sky Squad showed off their leaping, dunking and athletic abilities with a performance that got the crowd on their feet. The Sky Squad even invited the kids to participate in their act. The squad jumped and dunked over six, seven, eight kids at a time until they reached a high of 13 kids!

Members of the Sky staff hosted the hour-long event while a DJ was on hand to get the crowd moving. Sky Guy handed out yellow Sky wristbands and other giveaways for attendees to take home. Before they left, the kids had an opportunity to take a group photo with the mascot and dunk squad.

The Rockford Park Districtís Youth Basketball Skills Camp runs from November 4-8 and is designed to teach kids in Pre K-4th grade the necessary skills to become a better basketball player. Youth sports staff, local high school and AAU coaches will lead the camp. Each day will feature a different local area basketball coach.
