Sky Split Storm Series

It's possible that being one of two teams to have defeated the Storm headed into tonight's game against Seattle proved to be a curse on the Sky.

It was clear the Storm came out on a mission to not let the Sky defeat them twice in 2010. After one quarter Friday night in Seattle the Sky was outscored by the Storm 27-13 and was never able to recover.

The Storm shot 58 percent from the field for the quarter on 11-of-19 shooting including 4-of-7 from 3-point range. As hot as the Storm (22-2) started from the field, they never slowed down en route to an 80-60 win over the Sky at Key Arena.

Sylvia Fowles led the Sky with 13 points, five rebounds and a career-high five assists. Rookie guard Epiphanny Prince added 10 points off the bench for Chicago (12-14). She was the only other Sky player to score in double figures.

Five Storm athletes scored in double figures led by Swin Cash's 16 points and Lauren Jackson's 14 points.

The loss was the first for the Sky against a Western Conference opponent in 2010. Chicago is now 6-1 against the West, they were the last team in the WNBA to be undefeated against either conference.
