Sky at Shock
Sylvia Fowles scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds and Jia Perkins added 14 points as the Sky fell to the Tulsa Shock, 84-71 Saturday night at the BOK Center in Tulsa, OK.
The Sky entered the fourth quarter trailing by one and tied the game with 6:53 left on the clock. Then the Shock (6-28) went on an 11-3 run over the next four minutes to take a 75-67 lead.
Epiphanny Prince started for the second straight game for the Sky (14-20). She grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists and scored eight points.
Fowles blocked another shot Saturday night to bring her season total to 88. That's the 9th best single-season total in WNBA history. Fowles finished three ahead of Margo Dydek's 85 blocks in 2005 and two behind Lisa Leslie's 90 blocks in 2001.
Four Shock players scored in double figures. Tiffany Jackson and Shanna Crossley scored 17 points each and Marion Jones and Ivory Latta scored 14 points apiece. Jones's 14 points is a career high.
The Shock outrebounded the Sky 38-30 and outscored Chicago 46-28 in the paint.
