Sky Sunk in Phoenix
Sylvia Fowles scored a career-high 35 points and grabbed eight rebounds, but it wasn't enough as the Mercury's Diana Taurasi was sent to the line on a questionable call to decide the game with just seconds on the clock.
Taurasi sunk two free throws with 3.7 seconds left in the game to help sink the Sky, 97-96.
The Sky's Jia Perkins put her team ahead with five seconds left by sinking a pull-up jumper from the top of the key.
Perkins finished with 23 points and five rebounds. Epiphanny Prince added 14 points and five assists.
The Sky now sit at 12-15 on the season and remain winless all-time against the Mercury (12-13).
Fowles started the game on fire, scoring a Sky franchise record 18 points in the first quarter.
Phoenix forward Candice Dupree scored 19 points and grabbed six rebounds. She shot 7-of-8 from the field.
On the game, the Sky outrebounded the Mercury, 39-31.
