Sky Gets Even

The Chicago Sky's Sylvia Fowles put in two huge buckets in the last 2:30 of the game and Erin Thorn sunk a pair of free throws to help the Sky get even with the Washington Mystics on the season and get back to .500.

Fowles scored a game-high 13 points and grabbed 11 rebounds as the Sky defeated the Mystics, 61-59 Sunday afternoon at Washington.

With the Sky (11-11) trailing three and 2:30 on the clock, Fowles scored back-to-back baskets, the first a putback off her own miss and the second a layup off a nice feed from Thorn to put the Sky up one with 1:20 left.

The Sky followed that up with solid stops on defense until Thorn iced the game with two free throws with 6.5 seconds on the clock.

Dominique Canty scored 11 points and Jia Perkins added 10. Fowles's double-double was her seventh in the Sky's last eight games.

Crystal Langhorne led the Mystics (12-7) with 12 points and nine rebounds.
