Sky 61, Connecticut 74

Sylvia Fowles scored 16 against the Connecticut Sun in each teamís season opener, but it wasnít enough as the Sky fell 74-61.

The Sky made 1-of-15 3-point attempts while the Sun made 9-of-22. In her Sky debut, Shameka Christon made her teamís first three with 4:08 left in the game. Christon finished with 11 points, seven coming in the second half.

Fourteen of Fowles 16 points came in the first half of the game.

Anete Jakobsone-Zogota led Connecticut with 18 points. Rookie Tina Charles scored 17 in her WNBA regular season debut.

Cathrine Kraayeveld scored six points and grabbed four rebounds in her Sky debut. Sky first-round draft pick Epiphanny Prince scored seven points, had five steals and two assists in her WNBA debut.

Jia Perkins was the only other Sky athlete to reach double figures in scoring, she finished with 11 points.

On the game the Sky were outrebounded 41-32.
