Ruth Riley to Throw Ceremonial First Pitch at White Sox Game Tonight
Sky center Ruth Riley will throw the ceremonial first pitch at U.S. Cellular Field tonight when the White Sox take on the Minnesota Twins. The game starts at 7:10 p.m. and will be broadcast on WCIU.
Riley, who is in her first year with Chicago, is one of only a handful of players who have won a NCAA Championship (Notre Dame ’01), a WNBA championship (’03 and ’06 with the Detroit Shock) and a gold medal in the Olympics (’04 in Athens).
Joining her on the field tonight will be Sky guards Ticha Penicheiro and Shay Murphy, Sky center Carolyn Swords, and the Sky coaching staff, Pokey Chatman, Jeff House and Christie Sides.
