The Sky captured many awards, set a new attendance record and saw some All-Stars during the month of July. Below is a breakdown of this successful month.

July 1- Elena Delle Donne kicks off July by being named the WNBA Eastern Conference Player of the Week for June 24-June 30. She also starts the month having captured the Rookie of the Month award for June.

July 2- Carolyn Swords set several career and season highs in the Sky versus Seattle match up at Allstate Arena. With 3 blocks, Swords tied her career high. She set a season highs in minutes played (22:37), free throws made (3) and assists (2). Delle Donne also recorded her first career double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

July 8- Elena Delle Donne was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for the second straight week

July 10- The Sky took down the Washington Mystics (89-85) at home in front of 14,201 fans. The enthusiastic crowed set a new all-time Sky attendance record! The fans crushed the previous record of 13,828 set on July 13, 2011.

July 15- Sylvia Fowles was named Eastern Conference Player of the Week for July 8-14. To this date, Fowles averaged 14.5 points, 11.8 rebounds and two blocks per game. She also was the league leader in rebounds per game and ranked second overall in blocks per game.

July 18– The WNBA announced that Elena Delle Donne and Epiphanny Prince were named to the 2013 All-Star game. Delle Donne became the first rookie in WNBA history to collect the most fan votes.

The Sky also defeated the New York Liberty 75-55 on the road. The Sky took over first place in the Eastern Conference.

July 20- In the Sky’s win against the Liberty, Fowles became Sky’s all-time leader in minutes played (4,571 at the time).

Sky also hosted Gospel Night where Fellowship Chicago performed along with several Chicago area choirs.

July 23, 2013 —Sylvia Fowles was named a reserve at the 2013 WNBA All-Star Game presented by Boost Mobile.

July 27- At the WNBA All-Star Game Epiphanny Prince finished with 15 points, 2 assists and 1 steal while Sylvia Fowles finished with 6 points, 4 rebounds and 1 steal.
