Head Coach Pokey Chatman Throws First Pitch

After returning from a week off as part of the Olympic break the Sky players wasted no time getting back on the practice court with renewed focus and hunger for the second half of the season. After completing practice the team traveled to The Ballpark in Rosemont to spend an afternoon supporting the National Fast Pitch softball team The Chicago Bandits.

The highlight of the outing was watching their Head Coach Pokey Chatman who took to the softball field to throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Coach Chatman did the Sky proud, easily pitching the ball over the plate.

As the sun set over Rosemont the Sky players watched the Bandits fight and take the game against the Carolina Diamonds into extra innings where they eventually went down 5-4.

Sky players will have a busy month before hitting the court again at Allstate Arena on August 17, they will be out and about visiting camps, basketball clinics, festivals and will spend some time as tourists getting to know Chicago.
