Girl Scouts Journey World Officially Opens

The Sky is a proud sponsor of “Journey World” which is an innovative, experiential learning center operated by the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago & Northwest Indiana. The location was formerly known as the Center for Leadership & Innovation and the physical space includes two floors – one is a simulated city with rooms that look like actual businesses, and the other floor showcases prairie, forest, cave and lake environments. The Chicago Sky has outfitted a “sports store” in this simulated city and joins other tenants such as Bank of America, ABC 7 and Motorola, just to name a few.

This is a fun and creative space where students can learn how to become leaders by discovering, making connections and taking action in the business world, as well as the environmental world around us. Students can take on the roles of mayor, a journalist, a bank vice president, or a business owner such as in the Sky store. Students can also take on scientific based roles such as botanists, environmentalists and marine biologists.

The Sky is proud to be involved with the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago & Northwest Indiana in this venture as we work together to inspire the youth of Chicago-land and Northwest Indiana and develop the leaders of tomorrow.
