Over the Thanksgiving holiday, Chicago Sky forward Brooke Wyckoff returned to her alma mater, where her number 21 Florida State University jersey was retired at half-time of the FSU-University of Florida women's basketball game on Friday, November 24th. Wyckoff played at Florida State University from 1997-2001, leading the team to its first NCAA tournament appearance in a decade in her senior year.

As a freshman, Wyckoff set a FSU single-game mark for blocks with eight vs. SMSU and the school’s all-time season record for blocks with 80. She broke the ACC freshman record for blocks per game at 3.0 and was named to the ACC All-Freshman Team.

As a sophomore and junior, Wyckoff continued her dominance inside and led the team in rebounding both seasons while averaging double digits in scoring. In 2000, she was one of five league players named to the inaugural ACC All-Defensive team.

In 2001, Wyckoff’s senior season, she led Florida State to a tie for third-place in the ACC, the school’s highest finish, and to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade. Wyckoff was an All-ACC first team selection, only the second FSU player ever to receive the honor, and ranked among the ACC’s top nine in six statistical categories. Wyckoff still ranks among Florida State’s all-time top ten in four career statistical categories and is the school’s record-holder with 209 blocks.

A four-time Academic All-ACC selection, Wyckoff was also named a Verizon Academic All-American second team selection and won the ACC postgraduate scholarship.
