Epiphanny Prince: Enjoying a Break
I hope you are all enjoying the WNBA Finals, itís been a great series so far. I wanted to check in and say hi and let you know where I have been and what I have been doing since the Sky season ended.
As you all know I am from New York and I am definitely enjoying being back here with my family and friends. Itís been great to catch up with childhood friends and play pick up in the neighborhood. This is where I fell in love with the game and spent many hours playing as I grew up so itís always fun to come back and hit the courts. After having spent the last off-season in Russia and Turkey it is nice to have some time here in New York before I head back to Russia to spend the WNBA off-season playing with Spartak.
I was excited and honored when I was told that I had made the WNBA All-Rookie team and it really made me want to work even harder to make more improvements to my game so I have spent a lot of hours in the gym lifting and working on my agility. Next season I won't be a rookie and I know the expectations will be even greater for me and my teammates and now is the time to put in the work to get better.
When I havenít been in the gym it has been great to spend time with my mom at the spa getting massages, manicures, and pedicures and we have been able to sit down for a lot more family dinners than usual. My mom cooks the best soul food around and I miss that when I am away. My other favorite food is Chinese so I took my family to Benihanaís for the first time, which everyone liked a lot.
Other than that I have been enjoying New York Fashion Week and spent some time shopping with my buddy Tina Charles. There is another place I love, as my teammates can tell you, Dave & Busters, and I have been there quite a few times since being back in New York. Its fun and I love the challenge of winning as many tickets as possible. Next on my agenda is a trip to Rutgers to check out the refurbished locker rooms and spend time with my Rutgers family.
Time with my family and friends is running out before I head to Russia in early October, but I am looking forward to getting back on the court and continuing to improve my game. Let's hope we all survive the upcoming Winter Ė I heard that Chicago winter is very similar to the Russia winter (freezing). Until next time stay in touch with me on Twitter @piphdagreat10
Talk to you all once I get settled in Russia!
