A Day in the Life: Jia Perkins

My typical day starts at 9am when I'm up and ready to head out to practice, which usually begins at 10am. Since I only live 5 minutes away from the gym, I am normally out the door by 9:10am and arrive by 9:15am. Our practice usually runs for 2 hours, but on days that we lift weights we are at the gym for an additional 30 minutes.

After practice I head to the shower and then make my way back home to take a much needed nap. However, before I take my nap I have to make my daily call home to check on my mother and my baby girl. When I'm finished napping I spend time on my computer checking emails and chatting with friends online. After that it’s time to hit Michigan Avenue, one of the best places to shop. Lucky for me it’s only a few blocks away so I'm able to walk there. I normally don't spend that much time out there but I’ve got to check to see if there are any sales.

I’ve made a few friends in the area, being that it’s my second year in Chicago, so we usually go out to eat or catch a movie. I try to make my way back home in time to get a few minutes of Guitar Hero (my favorite video game) before heading to bed. After I'm done playing, I                                                     jump in bed, say my prayers and call it a night.
