Court of Dreams

Have you ever watched a Sky game and found yourself wondering what it would be like to experience the thrill of playing in a game like the pros do? What would it be like to take the ball up the court and hit a game winner on the ultimate stage – the Sky court?

The Chicago Sky is making that dream come true for basketball players all over the Chicago-land area and beyond. The Sky’s Court of Dreams is a once in a lifetime experience that provides boys and girls basketball teams of all ages the chance to have fun and be “pro’s for a day”.

With exciting rivalry matchups, friendly games, and everything in between, the Court of Dreams program has it all. Teams have traveled all the way from St. Louis, MO to play in the Court of Dreams and the Sky invites you and your team to participate next season.

“This is a great opportunity for the girls,” said Jeremy Schochecker, head coach of the girls’ basketball team at Loyola Academy. “It gives them a chance to play in a professional arena and experience what it’s like to play on this court.”

“This was a tremendous experience for our team,” said Coach Ken Flicking of Westminster Christian High School. “Playing on the Sky’s home floor was great fun and getting to watch the quality of basketball the WNBA plays was also an excellent learning experience and teaching tool for our players.”

Teams are allotted two hours of time on the home court of the Chicago Sky at Allstate Arena, and friends, students and families are all encouraged to attend to watch the game. Afterwards, teams get to sit courtside and watch as the Sky and their opponent take pre-game shoot around. As part of the package teams receive tickets for players, coaches, and families alike to enjoy the Sky game and all the Sky festivities. After the game, teams also receive Sky gifts and exclusive passes, which give the young athletes access to a post-game autograph session with the Sky players.

The Court of Dreams program was very popular in 2011 with over 30 teams participating and the program sold out quickly. The Sky has opened a second time slot for teams to play which allows teams to choose from two different times in the afternoon prior to a Sky game. The 2012 Court of Dreams schedule is anticipated to be even bigger and better than year’s past. During June and July, high school / Jr. high teams will get the chance to play and the August and September will be reserved for AAU / travel teams.
