IN to the SKY

Itís game day shoot around at the Verizon Center in Washington DC. The players are relaxed but focused after arriving the night before from Chicago.

I checked in with Pokey to talk about her keys to tonightís game against the Mystics and here is what she had to say on what the Sky need to do.

#1) Take care of the basketball.

The fewer turnovers we have, the more opportunities weíll have to execute our offense.

#2) Establish our transition game

The more the team can score in transition, the more team is able to relax and find their rhythm.

#3) Be tough on the boards

The team canít expect Sylvia to get every rebound. The whole team needs to be involved for the Sky to be successful controlling the boards.

Game time is 6:00 p.m.CT tonight. The Mystics are expected to play the Sky tough just like they did in the preseason. Donít be surprised to see Dominique Canty, Michelle Snow and Lindsay Wisdom-Hylton come out with a little something to prove after playing with Chicago last season.

Tune in to Comcast CN100 or WNBA LiveAccess to see the Sky tip off the 2012 WNBA Season and donít forget to purchase your tickets for the home opener next Friday May 25 when the Sky will host the Indiana Fever. The spotlight will be on the fans as they walk the blue carpet, have their photo taken and receive their exclusive photo frame schedule magnet courtesy of Jewel-Osco.
