Sky Center and Olympic Gold Medalist Sylvia Fowles Opens the School Year
Fowles and the Chicago Sky welcomed parents and students back to school by providing CPS with 50,000 tickets to be divided among the school system rewarding approximately 10% of Chicago area students. Each principal will be given a select amount of letters depending on the schools population and handle awarding students in their school who have gone over and beyond what has been asked of them regarding their education. Those students selected may redeem their letter for one complimentary ticket to a remaining Sky home game at the UIC Pavilion this season or during the 2009 season. The ticket offer will also be available for playoff games.
“The Sky aims to inspire confidence, and we understand that one of the finest vehicles to build confidence is through education -- knowledge truly is powerful,” said Sky President Margaret Stender. “We are excited to partner with CPS in an effort to honor 50,000 students who work hard at achieving their goals thorough education.”
The Sky is providing a special offer to friends and families of the awarded CPS students interested in attending the game. Students can call the CPS/Sky student hotline at 312-994-5995 to redeem their ticket, and friends and family can call the hotline to purchase additional seats for only $10. All orders will be filled on a first come, first served basis, as the supply for the upcoming games is limited. Below is a schedule of the remaining 2008 season home games:

Tuesday, September 9th at 7:00 pm vs. Washington
