“I’m thrilled to have Michael on the team,” said Key. “He has 14 years of professional play in the post, and will be able to teach Fowles the nuances of the position. She has rare mobility and size for the WNBA, and Mike can help her develop into the league’s premier post player. He is a great fit for the Sky: knowledgeable and passionate about basketball and a great dad, with a zest for life and new experiences.”
Mitchell was the second overall pick in the 1990 CBA Draft before taking his game overseas, where he played for the Gold Coast Rollers, Australian NBL (1991-1994); Brisbane Bullets, Australian NBL (1994-1996); North Melbourne Giants, Australian NBL (1996-1997); Rhondorf Dragons in Germany (1997-1999); and was a member of the Irish National Team (2000-2003).
