Jia vs. Deanna
Perkins, referred to as “Ms. Clutch,” scored 8 or her 12 points in the final 2:30 of the game to help erase a three point deficit and turn the tide producing a 6 point win.
“It was a team effort. We won it with our defense,” said Perkins. “The offense isn’t always on-point but at the end, the defense did it for us. I started off a little slow, but towards the end I got some confidence and made some plays.”
Jackson led her team in scoring with 26 points and 13 rebounds, an outing that would have set a personal high in rebounds in her WNBA career.
After Jackson found herself all alone under the rim to giver her team a 59-49 lead, the Perkins show began.
Jia tied the game by knocking down a 3-pointer, then added a gigantic 3 point play and finally topped that off with a steal and a lay-up giving her team a 3 point lead with 30 seconds left in the game.
Raanana Hertzeila head coach Tal Natan said about Perkins, “Jia came out of nowhere, showed her abilities, and I’m proud she is my point guard this season!”
Jackson is having a terrific season overseas, averaging 22.7 points and 11.3 rebounds. Perkins is averaging 15 points for Raanana Hertzelia.
