The Lady Patriots are a young team with only 6 of 14 players returning from last year’s varsity team. Whether they are winning or losing, the bench is always lively and supportive and the players’ intensity on the floor is consistent. This team makes a huge effort for its players to bond and offers support for the younger players through weekly team dinners and carpooling. Before the first game of the season, each girl picks the name of a teammate and writes her a letter listing her strengths and offering her support throughout the year. According to the nominations from coaches, teachers and fans, these players are “great students, respectful members of the community and role models for younger girls.” Not only do the Lady Patriots support one another but they support members of the Lincolnshire community through their Give program. This year, the team chose to adopt a family for the holidays in hopes of making their season a little brighter.
