The Sky and Scholastic Books are working together to help raise money for the Jackie Robinson classroom library fund. This Pre-K through 3rd grade elementary school is located at 4225 S. Lake Park Ave, in Chicago’s Oakland neighborhood.
Jacqueline Thomas, who is in her first year as principal at Jackie Robinson, isn’t just looking to provide her students with books. Her dream is to achieve individual classroom libraries that will give the children a comfortable place to learn and grow, through books. It will promote reading for academic and recreational purposes and inspire the students to become lifelong readers and writers. These libraries will also give these children the opportunity to take books home and read during their free time, which is proven to be fundamental in the development of children both academically and spiritually.
Thanks to Scholastic, a mere $2 donation, will allow the school to purchase one (1) brand new book for their library. And since we at the Sky value your donation, we want you to be a winner as well!!
