Quigley & Warley Re-sign

Head Coach & GM Pokey Chatman has re-signed guard Allie Quigley and forward Avery Warley. Per team policy, terms of the contracts are not disclosed.

"Allie's ability to shoot the basketball will be on display this season as she's gained comfort in our system and is ready to handle more responsibility,” said Sky Head Coach and General Manager Pokey Chatman.

In 2013 Quigley appeared in all 34 games for Chatman’s team. The Chicago-native made the most of her opportunity and set multiple career highs in her first season with the Sky. Quigley shot a personal-best 31.5% from three-point range on the year and poured in a career-high 18 points in a June 6 game against San Antonio. With the comfort of playing in her hometown and remaining in Chatman’s system, expect even more improvements with Quigley during the 2014 season.

Avery Warley, the 6-3 center from Liberty University, will also remain on Chatman’s roster for the upcoming season. The Sky picked up Warley midway through the 2013 season when the team was granted a roster hardship due to injuries.

“We're happy to have Avery back as she gained valuable experience when she joined us last year,” said Sky Head Coach and General Manager Pokey Chatman. “Throughout her career she has displayed a desire to rebound the basketball along with a presence in the paint that truly fit our needs.”

After entering the WNBA as an undrafted rookie, Warley has quickly emerged as one of the league’s top rebounders. For her career she ranks No. 2 in the WNBA in rebounds per 40 minutes (17.0) and No. 1 in the WNBA in offensive rebounds per 40 minutes (12.7). In addition to contributing 4.6 rpg for the Sky last season, Warley owned an impressive .450 field goal percentage. As a player who has shown steady improvement year-to-year, Chatman sees a bright future for Warley entering her third WNBA season.

The Sky will tip off their 2014 campaign on Friday, May 16 at 7:30pm against the Indiana Fever. For tickets call 866.SKY.WNBA or click here.
