The UIC Pavilion and I are a great combination. Just think of all of the good times that we have all had in there together! I was there today for the Girls & Women in Sports Day game between UIC and Wright State. The stands were full of students and teachers from the Chicago-land area. They made tons of noise for the home team and of course for me (who wouldn’t cheer for the almighty Sky Guy?). I threw out a hundred Sky t-shirts (my arms a little tired now), made it rain pocket schedules all over the crowd, and showed the kids how much fun I can have with silly string (I got them good!). During a break in the action, I grabbed three teachers from the stands and brought them out on the court to show their students that they could dance with the best of them. Needless to say, the student’s reaction was extremely loud for their teachers. At halftime, the amazingly acrobatic Jesse White Tumblers performed one of their incredible routines, and believe it or not Jesse White was there! He even let me join in the tumbling fun (what a nice guy). No matter the occasion, I’ve always had a blast at the UIC Pavilion, and today was no exception.
Go Back!
