Have I ever told you how much I love toys? Today I joined Sky forward Amanda Lassiter at Chicago Academy to take part in an American Heart Association “Jump Rope for Heart Kickoff” event. Amanda and I, along with members of AHA, had the great opportunity to communicate the benefits of healthy living through physical activity to the hundreds of elementary students in attendance. Amanda talked to the students about how she stays in tip-top shape in order to play basketball in the WNBA. I was there to flex my muscles and be an example for Amanda. She had me do jumping jacks, push-ups, run around, and of course, jump rope all over the stage to help demonstrate just a small part of the hard work that Amanda does during her off-season. After I was done with that, I got to play with a bunch of cool toys in-order to show the kids all the fun stuff they could get by raising money for “Jump Rope for Heart” (have I told you how much I love toys?). Amanda and I played with jump ropes, stilts, scooters, and tons of other amazing toys that didn’t exist when I was little. So kids of Chicago Academy start jump roping to live a healthy life, and don’t forget to raise money so you can get some really awesome toys. In case you didn’t know, I love toys! |
