Today was another fun and busy day. I started my day at the University of Illinois Medical Center to join Sky forward, Amanda Lassiter, and Bear Necessities Pediatric Cancer Foundation to visit children at the hospital. I brought an inflatable basketball hoop so I could shoot some baskets with all the kids. Of course I had to blow it up first (boy was my face red after that). After I caught my breath (15 minutes later), I was ready to play. I let the children show me their best shots and I showed them my rebounding skills. We all had tons of fun and it was great to see these youngsters with huge smiles on their faces.
That night I found my way to Michigan Ave. for the Magnificent Mile Lights Festival. The streets were lined with thousands of friendly people there to watch the parade, fireworks, and sparkling lights. When I got there they were all excited to see me (I wasn’t surprised). I was in more pictures than I’ve ever been in before. People actually got into lines to have their pictures taken with me (I must be famous or something). I had to take a time-out from my photo shoot because I saw a girl with a dilemma… she was scared to cross the street, so I safely carried her across. I found myself on the other side of the street and was quickly in the middle of more picture taking. Like I said before, I was in a lot of pictures. |
