Deanna Jackson bio

Deanna Jackson comes to Chicago from the Indiana Fever. She is an excellent defender and perimeter performer. Deanna, having played for the Cleveland Rockers and the Fever, joins the Sky for her fifth season in the WNBA. Her record of success in the league combined with her international experience in Korea and China will undoubtedly be valuable. As a 6’2 forward, her outstanding athleticism allows her to bring size and depth to the small forward position.

Deanna has a history of making an immediate impact on the court. Coached by her father Ronald in high school, Deanna led T.R. Miller in Brewton, Ala., to two state championships averaging 28 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists per game her senior year. She took her ability to dominate on the inside and also to burn opponents on the outside to the University of Alabama – Birmingham, where she joined her older sister Felicia.

At UAB, Deanna went on to become the only Conference USA player to record 2,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in her career, and in March 2005 was named to the Conference USA Women's Basketball Team of the Decade. At one point during her final year at Alabama, Deanna led the nation in scoring and rebounding, averaging 26.2 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.
