The Sky selected Amy Jaeschke with the 27th pick of the draft.
Jaeschke, a 6-5 center from Northwestern, was recognized for her superb 2010-2011 season as a First team All-Big Ten selection by the coaches and media, her fourth year in a row as an All-Big Ten selection. She was also named to the Big Ten All-Defensive Team.
Putting up gaudy numbers throughout her senior year averaging 21.6 points per game, Jaeschke recorded just the second triple double in Northwestern history with 30 points, 10 rebounds and 10 blocks against Chicago State, and notched a career-best 37 points and a personal-high 17 rebounds against Central Michigan.
Jaeschke finished her senior year at Northwestern ranked No. 1 on the Wildcats’ career blocks list with 352 and is the fourth leading career blocker in the Big Ten. She also ranks second in both scoring (1941) and rebounding (915) in Wildcat history.
Jaeschke averaged 16.7 points and 7.9 rebounds per game over her four years at Northwestern.
