SAN ANTONIO – Retired Silver Stars guard Tai Dillard will join veteran broadcast crew Andrew Monaco and Marsha Sharp for eight locally televised games on San Antonio’s My35 during the 2008 season.
Dillard will join Monaco on the sidelines in five broadcasts this season: May 30 at Seattle, June 28 versus Minnesota, July 1 against Detroit, July 27 at Detroit, and Aug. 30 at Los Angeles. Sharp will work two games: July 14 at Los Angeles and July 19 versus Minnesota. Monaco’s broadcast partner for the June 15 affair at Indiana has yet to be announced.
Dillard recently completed her first season as an assistant coach at the University of Texas-San Antonio. She played with the Silver Stars from 2003-05 and had stints with the NWBL’s Houston Stealth and the Israeli Premier Bask League’s Macabbi Tel Kabir before landing with the Roadrunners.
Monaco is entering his sixth season as the Silver Stars play-by-play announcer while Sharp is in her third season as a color analyst.
Three additional games will be televised nationally, starting May 24 against Seattle on ABC. The June 24 game against Houston will be shown on ESPN2 while the July 6 game at Washington will be broadcast on ABC.
The Silver Stars open the 2008 season on the road at Sacramento May 17 before hosting the defending WNBA champion Phoenix Mercury on May 20. Affordable full and partial season ticket plans are on sale now. Visit www.sasilverstars.com or call (210) 444.5090 for more information.
