The San Antonio Silver Stars have signed former TCU guard
Adrianne Ross to a seven-day contract and extended Rice standout Valeriya
Berezhynska to an additional seven-day deal, Head Coach and General Manager Dan Hughes announced today. Per team policy, terms of the contracts have not been disclosed.
Ross, a 5’8” guard, was one of the last players waived from the Silver Stars roster following training camp this season. She appeared in one regular season game, playing four minutes at Sacramento. During the pre-season, Ross scored 16 points against Detroit and 13 against Houston, averaging 24 minutes per game. At TCU, she ranked second on the Frogs’ career scoring chart with 1,725 career points. She also owns school records for steals (339), games played (135) and field goal attempts (1,562).
Berezhynska played three minutes at Phoenix in her only Silver Stars appearance so far. She averaged 10 points and 6.4 rebounds per game throughout her collegiate career. As a senior, she led the Owls with 17.0 points and 9.9 rebounds per game. One of only three Conference-USA players to average a double-double in league games, she earned second team all-league honors as a senior. The Detroit Shock drafted Berezhynska 42nd overall in the 2008 WNBA Draft, but waived her on May 5. She then signed with Sacramento for four days. She will report to San Antonio on Tuesday.
