Silver Stars Interim Head Coach Shell Dailey:

On her first win as head coach - “It felt good. You should see the joy and excitement those young ladies are feeling. I’m so proud of them. I could not ask for more.”

On the demeanor of the team - “We talked about that, about hanging in there no matter what. If we just continued to believe, it would work itself out."

On the defense - “It’s something we were focusing on improving for the last three or four weeks. They just made the choice to do it tonight. We played one defense in the game.”
“It feels good to have the continued support of the crowd. To have them hang in there no matter what. We could hear them yelling. Down the stretch that really got us going.”

Adrienne Goodson:

On the game - "We never stopped playing. We wanted this win. We deserved this win. It was in the cards for us.”

“I’ve definitely not been happy with my performance the first half of the season. Consistency has been my middle name throughout my career. To go out and play like I have has been disappointing and embarrassing. It’s been hard to swallow.”

Rockers Head Coach Dan Hughes:

On Shell Dailey’s first game - “It affected them. They played really hard. When something like that happens, there’s a certain energy that goes into players.”

On inability to score in the second half - “I think Margo (Dydek) takes away some of your interior scoring. I thought she impacted the basket area and we just missed open shots.”

On inability to score in the second half - "They really got up defensively and pressured us. Obviously one of our strengths in the past has been our inside/outside game. Their size gave us problems and we went away from our transition game.“

On their inconsistency in putting together a win streak - “I think we just need to play a whole forty minutes, because we’ve had patches where we’ve been awesome offensively and defensively. Then there’s a patch where we seem to go away from the things that are working for us. We struggle from the pressure of the defense or our shots don’t go in. It’s not a full forty minute effort."
