Silver Stars Offseason Plans

With the WNBA offseason in full swing, we thought it might be a good time to find out what the Silver Stars players offseason plans were. While some of players will continue to work on their basketball skills, others have decided to take the time off to pursue other areas of interest. Let’s take a look at what some of the Silver Stars have planned.

Chantelle Anderson – Chantelle returned home to Sacramento after the season and has been working out with her strength coach. She will be in San Antonio from Nov. 1 until the New Year doing community appearances and working out with Coach Hughes.

Edna Campbell – Edna is pulling double duty. She is taking correspondence classes to help her get into nursing school while playing overseas in France.

Tai Dillard – Tai is taking her education degree from UT and putting it to good use. She is teaching and coaching basketball at Sam Houston High School here in San Antonio, the same high school she graduated from.

Shyra Ely – Shyra is headed to Israel to play for Raanana Hertzliya in the Israeli Women’s D1 League. She will be keeping a journal of her experiences in Israel for MySanAntonio.com so be sure to check in once her season begins October 23.

Marie Ferdinand – After the WNBA season ended Marie headed home to Miami to spend some time with her family. She is planning on going overseas to play in Prague, Czech Republic for USK Blex Prague.

Katie Feenstra – Katie is back at Liberty University finishing school and working out with Silver Stars assistant coach Sandy Brondello.

Dalma Ivanyi – Dalma is back in Hungary and plans to play for Mizo Pecs, the Hungarian team she has played for her entire professional career in Europe.

Nikki McCray - Nikki is currently hanging out in San Antonio doing community appearances and working on her game with the UTSA Roadrunners.

Wendy Palmer-Daniel – Wendy traded in her sneakers for a clipboard and a whistle this offseason and is coaching at Virginia Commonwealth University.

LaToya Thomas – LT is headed to Croatia this offseason to work on her game after missing most of the season due to a shoulder injury.

Kendra Wecker – Kendra is finishing school at Kansas State University. She is working out and rehabbing with her former Wildcat teammate Megan Mahoney who also missed the entire 2005 WNBA season with an injury.
