It’s not the WNBA Championship, but for Agnieszka “Biba” Bibrzycka,
Margo Dydek and
Marie Ferdinand, a championship from overseas will do for now. Biba and Dydek captured the Polish League Championship earlier this week while Ferdinand came home with a Russian Championship.
The Silver Stars Polish duo guided Lotos VBW Clima Gydnia to their seventh straight Polish League Championship on Monday. Clima Gydnia defeated Stary Browar AZS Poznañ 82-74 to capture the title three games to one. Biba finished with 21 points and grabbed four rebounds in the win while Dydek collected her third double-double of the series finishing with 20 points and 11 rebounds. During their title run Biba averaged 17.0 points while Dydek posted three double-doubles, averaging 22.1 points and 10.0 rebounds.
“Biba” and Dydek will meet the rest of the Silver Stars team in Mexico for their first preseason game.

Over in Russia, Ferdinand helped VGM-SGAU Samara win the Russian Championship last week sweeping UMMC Ekaterinburg in three games.
Samara came into the Finals as the underdogs after Ekaterinburg signed WNBA MVP Lauren Jackson to a contract just for the championship series. After defeating their Russian foes 88-76 in Game One, Samara took Game Two behind the clutch shooting of Ferdinand. With the game on the line, the Silver Stars guard hit the game-winner to give Samara a 67-65 victory. Game Three was just as close, but Samara found a way to win defeating Ekaterinburg 67-66 to take home the championship.
Ferdinand arrived to training camp last week and is currently working out with the rest of the team.
