“Biba” And Dydek Gear Up For Euroleage Final Four

The EuroLeague Final Four is just five days away and “Biba” Bibrzycka and Margo Dydek are as ready as they will ever be. “Biba” and Dydek and their Lotos VBW Clima Gdynia teammates will take on Gambrinus JME (Czech Republic) for achance to advance to the finals Friday night. The winner will take on the winner of the Mizo-Pesci VSK (Hungary) – US Valenciennes Olympic (France) game on Sunday.

This past weekend Lotos VBW defeated CCC Aquapark Polkowice 95-85 in Polish League play, their last game before the EuroLeague Final Four. “Biba” finished with 10 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in 28 minutes of action while Dydek finished with 9 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists in 18 minutes.

Over in Russia, Marie Ferdinand VGM-SGAU Samara rolled into the Finals of the Russian Championships sweeping Dynamo-Energiya in semifinal play last week. Samara defeated Energiya 92-79 in Game 1 behind 17 points and 4 rebounds from Ferdinand on April 7. Samara closed out the series with 106-92 victory Saturday night in which Ferdinand scored 6 points and collected 2 rebounds in just 14 minutes. VGM-SGAU will face UMMC Ekaterinburg in the Finals.

Gwen Jackson’s run at the Israeli Championship came to an end when Ramat Hasharon lost to Elizur Ramla 70-44 in the fifth and deciding game of their semifinal matchup last Sunday. Jackson scored 8 points and grabbed 16 rebounds in the losing effort.
