SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Silver Stars guard
Shanna Crossley had successful surgery to repair the torn Anterior Cruciate Ligament in her left knee Thursday, according to team officials.
Crossley injured her knee during San Antonio’s second offensive possession of the team’s pre-season game with Detroit on May 12.
The third-year guard is expected to miss the 2008 season, but will return to the court in 2009.
Drafted by the Silver Stars in the second round of the 2006 WNBA draft, Crossley is the only Silver Star to have appeared in every game for the past two seasons. In those two seasons, Crossley has made 122 3-point field goals, second best in franchise history. In 2007, she averaged 9.2 points and 1.4 rebounds per game.
