SAN ANTONIO, June 9, 2010 – The San Antonio Silver Stars today announced they have signed third-year guard Allie Quigley and have waived forward Crystal Kelly. Per team policy, the terms of Quigley’s contract were not disclosed.

The 5-foot-10 guard has recorded career averages of 2.0 points, 0.7 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 0.3 steals per game in 23 games played. This season, Quigley played in three games for the Indiana Fever and averaged 2.0 points, 0.3 rebounds, 0.3 assists, 0.7 steals and 0.3 blocks per game before she was waived on May 27.

Quigley originally was selected by the Seattle Storm in the second round (22nd overall) of the 2008 WNBA Draft; Seattle waived her on May 8, 2008, but she was signed by the Phoenix Mercury just three days later. With the Mercury, she appeared in 14 games in 2008 and six games in 2009 before Phoenix waived her on July 14, 2009; Indiana then signed her on March 23, 2010.

San Antonio acquired Kelly from the Shock in a trade that sent guard Shanna Crossley to Tulsa on April 14, 2010. Kelly has collected career averages of 5.3 points and 2.3 rebounds per game in 71 games played.

Originally selected by the Houston Comets in the third round pick (31st overall) of the 2008 WNBA Draft, Kelly has played with the now-defunct Sacramento Monarchs and the Detroit Shock. In her rookie season, she shot 85.0% from the free throw line which led all rookies on the team and put her second overall among Monarchs players. Kelly played in 23 games for Sacramento in 2009 before being sent to Detroit in exchange for Kristin Haynie; Kelly finished the season with the Shock and tallied 2.8 points per game and 1.3 rebounds per game in 11 games.
