Silver Stars Announce Local Television Broadcast Schedule

SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio Silver Stars will broadcast eight games live on FOX Sports Southwest (FSSW) with one nationally televised game on ESPN2 during the 2012 season. The local broadcast schedule includes coverage of five home games and three road contests.

FOX Sports Southwest coverage begins with the season opener on Saturday, May 19 at Tulsa at 7 p.m. The FSSW road schedule also includes games against defending WNBA champion Minnesota (June 3) and Phoenix (Aug. 19).

Home coverage begins on Saturday, June 9 when the Silver Stars host Seattle in the AT&T Center at 7 p.m. FSSW will also broadcast a pair of home games against Los Angeles on Saturday, June 16 at 7 p.m. and the annual camp day game on Thursday, June 28 at 11:30 a.m. San Antonio hosts two-time defending Eastern Conference champion Atlanta on Friday, July 13 at 7 p.m. on FSSW and closes out the broadcast schedule with its Breast Health Awareness game matchup against Tulsa on Aug. 25 at 7 p.m.

The nationally televised game rounds out the 2012 broadcast schedule on Sept. 18 with the Silver Stars hosting the New York Liberty on ESPN2 as part of the WNBA’s Breast Health Awareness week.

The voice of the Silver Stars Andrew Monaco returns to the FSSW broadcast team as the play-by-play announcer while Brenda VanLengen will resume her role as analyst. Games can also be heard locally on Ticket 760-AM with Andy Everett. Broadcast crew for the ESPN2 game is still to be determined.
