Crossley Undergoes Successful Shoulder Surgery

SAN ANTONIO – San Antonio Silver Stars guard Shanna Crossley underwent surgery to repair a torn labrum in her right shoulder Friday morning. Drs. Ralph Curtis and Richard Steffen of the Sports Medicine Associates performed the surgery.

The surgery went well, and Crossley will return for the 2008 season. Crossley played with the nagging shoulder injury all season, while wearing a fitted protective shirt under her uniform.

Crossley averaged 9.2 points per game during the regular season, hitting 74 of 181 three-point attempts. The second-year guard ranked second in the WNBA in three-point field goals made and first in three-point field goals per 40 minutes (6.91). She also ranked 10th in three-point field-goal percentage (.409) and fifth in points per 40 minutes (22.9). She averaged 8.2 points per game during the playoffs, including a 20-point performance in the final game of the season. It was her third 20-point game of the year.
