Traveling back to Tulsa was awesome. The night before I had some of my former teammates and friends come up and we went out to dinner. We were able to watch the NBA Finals at Leon’s and it was pretty exciting in there. It was great to be with all of them and see them because I miss them a lot. Just being able to have that atmosphere was great.
Then coming to the arena the next night on game day and seeing all that crimson in there was great. Everyone was yelling, “D-Rob! D-Rob!” and with all their Boomer Sooner! It was just a great feeling and was awesome.
I was a little disappointed after the game that I didn’t get to talk with all those fans because they cleared the arena after the game but I was so thankful that they came out and supported me. It felt like I was at the Lloyd Noble Center playing a game there.
That’s one of the things that so great about the people of Oklahoma, is that they are so loyal and they are so excited. Sometimes they are as excited as you are and they don’t even touch the floor. It always feels like family whenever I’m in Oklahoma, it doesn’t matter what city, but Tulsa was a great welcome back.
