Silver Stars Tie Franchise Record with 20th Win, Drop Sparks in OT

LOS ANGELES, August 14 (AP) - Vickie Johnson had a season-high 19 points that helped push the San Antonio Silver Stars to an 84-77 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Sparks Tuesday.
Sophia Young also had 19 points and Becky Hammon scored 18 points for the Silver Stars (20-11), who moved within a half-game of first-place Phoenix in the WNBA's Western Conference.
The Silver Stars, who led by as many as 11 points in regulation, began overtime with a 10-2 spree to take a 79-71 lead with 1:26 left. Young scored eight points during the run but the Sparks missed their first eight shots.
San Antonio's Ruth Riley did not dress for the game after injuring her left ankle Saturday night against Houston.
